Tips to protect your ATM card and ATM card PIN number

Some useful security Tips to protect your Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Card PIN number.

Now, most people uses Bank debit card to withdraw money from ATM. So it is necessary to protect from stealing ATM card PIN (Personal Identification Number) number and card itself. Technology has its own advantages and disadvantages. ATM thieves can steal ATM pin number and card information remotely also using technology. 



Below is some useful security tips given, which can protect your ATM Pin number and card information.
  • Try to use same ATM for every transaction, if possible. By multiple uses you will be familiar with that machine, so that you can identify the changes in that machine, if made any. Sometime ATM thieves uses some additional devices on original card slot, which can collect your ATM card information. So you can check any extra devices attached with that ATM which should not supposed to be on machine.
  • Never share your card PIN number to any one. 
  • Never write debit card PIN number on card.
  • Try to check balance frequently.
  • Keep SMS/email alerts on. So that you will get transaction alert on your mobile/emails. 
  • If you use different cards, try to keep different PIN number for all cards.
  • Change your card PIN number after sometime. Do not use, your mobile number, birth date, anniversary date to create PIN number. Create your PIN using non related number from such events.
  • Never share Card PIN number on mail communication, on phones. Bank will never ask PIN number information on phone or in e-mails.
  • After completing transaction, always press "Cancel" button given on keypad,
  • Try to avoid to use ATM, when some people are inside ATM cabin and observing your activity. Also you can hide ATM Keypad and password while typing your Card PIN number.
  • Do not forget to collect ATM card and transaction slip. Sometime in a hurry, we forget to collect.
  • If your Card PIN number is stolen, then immediately call ATM help line number provided by Bank or contact bank.
  • Try to avoid help from strangers.
  • Do not forget to sign on back side of card. This will help to identify card owner, in case of card recovery.

View your Employee Provident Fund Account Passbook online

Before some months I posted one article Know Employee Provident Fund balance online by SMS in this blog. Now, EPF (Employee Provident Fund) organization has started online passbook system. So EPF member can know account detail online in passbook format. Member can download passbook also.



Overview and Registration detail:
  • This Member Portal is for Employee, Where Employee can check own PF Status.
  • Member need to first register online to view EPF account passbook.
  • As per EPF official site, right now this facility is only for the members for whom the employer has uploaded the Electronic Challan Cum Return for the wage month of May 2012 onwards.
  • There is no any requirement to create User ID or password during registration. So no need to remember it. 
  • During registration it will ask your mobile number and one of following document detail.                        
                 (1) PAN Number
                 (2) AADHAR (UID)
                 (3) NPR (National Population Register)
                 (4) Bank Account Number
                 (5) Voter ID Card
                 (6) Passport Number
                 (7) Driving License Number
                 (8) Ration Card Number  
  • One mobile number can be used for one registration only.
Online registration form looks like below.



After filling form, when you click GET PIN, you will receive pin number in mobile number which you need to enter in the field given below form. Here it is not shown in above image. Once you verified, your online account will be activated.

Now you can login. Login window looks like below. Here you need to Choose document type, which you selected while registration and need to enter Document Number and Mobile number. Then click Sign In. So it will take you in your account. From where, you can download your online Passbook and also you can edit your personal information.

 

This online facility is really nice. I have used it. It is too good compared to SMS system.

Right to Information Act (RTI)

Government of India passed bill for Right to Information Act in 2005. This article will give you information about RTI ( Right to Information) act, application process and its fee. 

As per Right to Information act, person can request to Information commission to know about government activity. This information is provided by Public Information Officers (PIO). But there are some exclusions in information means RTI applicant cannot know all the information whatever wants. Such exclusions are given in official website.



Procedure to apply for RTI:
  • Person can do application using form 'K' or by writing on plain paper in local official language or English or Hindi. 
  • It is mandatory to specify particulars of information that what kind of information applicant wants to know. 
  • Application can be send by direct application by visiting PIO office or person can send by post also. 
  • There is some application fees which need to pay while applying. Fees detail is given below and also you can visit website to know more. Application fees can be paid by Indian postal order, Pay order, Revenue stamp, Cash, DD,  and by many other options.
Fees:
  • It is mentioned in act that application fee must be reasonable. Application fee is Rs. 20.
  • There is no fee for the people who are living below the poverty line.
  • If additional fee is required, then it must be informed in writing with calculation details of fee figure to applicant.

All music lover knows A.R.Rahman. He is one of the best and Oscar winning Music director, composer and singer from India. A.R.Rahman was awarded "Padma Shri" by in year 2000 and also awarded "Padma Bhushan" by Government of India in year 2010. Who will not like to see him performing live? How to remove password from Microsoft outlook personal folder

We can remove or change password of Microsoft outlook personal folder .pst file. Follow below procedure for this.

Open Microsoft Outlook application.

There are two ways to access propertied of Microsoft outlook personal folder to change password.

First way:
  • Go to Tools menu.
  • Select Account Settings.
  • Here you will find different tabs. Shown in below image.

 

  • Select Data Files tab. So that you will find different folders and file names.


  • Select folder and click Settings and go to Change Password
 

Here type old password and leave New password and Verify password field blank. Click Ok. So password will be removed. If you want to change your existing password, type Old Password and New Password, Verify password. So your password will be changed.

Second Way:


  • Go to Go menu.
  • Select Folder List.
  • On the left side, there is a Navigation Pane.
  • Right click on the name of .pst file.
  • Select Properties.
  • Click Advanced....
  • Select Change Password and follow same steps as given above.
